The global iGaming market continues to expand at a remarkable pace. Yet for companies operating in telecom, CPaaS and wholesale messaging, the most important question is not simply how big the market is becoming, but where that growth is happening and under what conditions.
In recent years, we have seen a clear shift. The markets that matter most for wholesale messaging are not just the largest ones, they are the ones growing under regulated frameworks, where operators, payments, identity verification and communications are increasingly standardized.
This evolution has a direct impact on how casino traffic moves across telecom networks. As online gaming ecosystems mature, operators depend more than ever on reliable, compliant and transparent messaging infrastructure to support onboarding, authentication, payments and customer engagement. For wholesale buyers, aggregators and telecom operators, this shift is changing what “quality routes” look like.
The most interesting markets for wholesale messaging share a common characteristic: they combine growth with regulatory maturity. Below we highlight some of them.
Europe remains one of the largest and most mature markets in the world. According to the latest EGBA/H2 Gambling Capital’s report, online gambling revenue in Europe surpassed €51 billion in 2025, and projections suggest it could reach nearly €67 billion by 2029.
Within this ecosystem, online casino is the largest segment, representing a significant share of total digital gambling revenue (€23,2 billion in 2025 and estimated €30,8 billion by 2029).
Another important factor is the continued growth of mobile usage, which is expected to represent roughly two-thirds of online gambling activity in the coming years. As mobile becomes the dominant channel, messaging (particularly SMS-based authentication, notifications and alerts), plays a central role in the user journey.
Europe’s combination of scale, digital maturity and sustained growth ensures that it will continue to be a critical region for wholesale messaging infrastructure.
North America offers a strong example of how regulated markets can expand while maintaining strict oversight and operational transparency.
In Canada, the province of Ontario has emerged as one of the most dynamic regulated iGaming environments. In the 2024–2025 fiscal year, iGaming Ontario reported approximately $82.7 billion in wagers and $3.2 billion in gaming revenue, with the casino segment accounting for roughly $2.4 billion.
The US presents a different structure, as online gaming regulation occurs at the state level rather than through a single national framework. Nevertheless, regulated jurisdictions continue to grow rapidly. According to the American Gaming Association, iGaming revenue reached approximately $10.7 billion in 2025, representing a 27.6% year-on-year increase.
South America is quickly becoming one of the most dynamic regions for iGaming growth, driven by new regulatory frameworks and the integration of previously fragmented markets.
Brazil has positioned itself as a key market following the introduction of its national regulatory framework in 2025. Only operators authorized by the Brazilian Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) are allowed to operate nationally, and licensed platforms must use the “.bet.br” domain. The scale of the market is significant. By early 2026, regulators reported more than 25 million active users across 79 authorized platforms.
Peru represents another example of regulatory evolution in the region. Under the supervision of MINCETUR, the country has established a structured ecosystem including 54 licensed platforms, alongside strengthened anti-money laundering requirements. The total volume of the sports betting and casino market in Peru was estimated at around US$2.5 billion in 2025. Formalization has been attracting international operators, and projects growth of close to 20% by 2026.
As iGaming markets mature, communication becomes more central to the operational model of online operators. Casino platforms depend on messaging for a wide range of critical interactions, including:
This evolution means user communications must meet stricter standards. Delivery failures, latency or route instability can disrupt onboarding processes, trigger compliance issues or damage user experience.
For wholesale messaging buyers, route quality becomes significantly more important than price alone. Operators need routes that provide:
In other words, the infrastructure supporting casino messaging must evolve alongside the markets themselves.
Another important reality in iGaming messaging is that not all traffic has the same level of criticality. Different types of communication require different levels of reliability, monitoring and routing strategies.
This category includes messages that are essential for platform access and security, such as:
These messages require low latency, predictable delivery and high route reliability. Even small delays can impact the user experience or create operational friction for the operator.
Other communications focus on customer engagement and marketing activation, including:
While still important, these messages typically have more flexibility in delivery timing and routing strategies.
Wholesale buyers therefore need partners capable of managing multiple routing and Sender ID strategies based on the nature of the traffic being delivered.
The reality is that when markets become more regulated, there is less room for opaque routing strategies, unpredictable delivery paths or purely price-driven tactics. Instead, the industry moves toward infrastructure partners that guarantee network reach, operational visibility, compliance awareness and strong account management.
As Carla Oliveira, Wholesale Head of Sales at Go4Mobility, highlights:
